This ring road will be around 173 km long. This revolutionary road project will interconnect 29 villages across the city. This will not only elevate connectivity but also result in the development of surrounding regions.
This eight-lane express highway will have a maximum vehicle speed of 120 km per hour. It will be developed into four phases.
It will be linked with four major highways in Pune. Those highways will be Mumbai – Pune – Solapur, Pune – Satara, Pune – Nashik, and Pune – Ahilyanagar.

Pune Ring Road Map
The below-mentioned road map specifies the interlink between the villages over the bypass of the Pune Ring Road and it also specifies the connectivity around Pune city.

Pune Ring Road Current Status
Because Pune connects to four major national highways (including the routes to Mumbai, Solapur, Nashik, and Bangalore), a massive volume of heavy outbound trucks and commercial vehicles must pass through the city daily.
Pune’s rapid growth as an industrial, IT, and real estate hub is causing severe, daily traffic congestion across its inner city roads and corridors.
To find the solution to this issue, the Pune Ring Road project is being planned and leading toward execution.
The total land requirement for the massive circular expressway has been expanded to approximately 1,554 hectares to support wider access lanes.
According to recent records, land acquisition is virtually finished at over 98% completion, enabling continuous groundwork and structural assembly across all construction packages.
The project has secured full financial backing, with the state releasing over ₹17,000 crores dedicated exclusively to direct-purchase land payouts alongside infrastructural loans from HUDCO.
Following early land surveys and preparation in 2023, heavy on-ground construction, including the building of tunnels and viaducts, started in December 2024 and is targeted for a rolling completion between late 2026 and September 2027.
Pune Ring Road Completion Date

The route of the Pune Ring Road is split into eastern and western sections, with heavy construction now moving at a fast pace across the western stretch.
The western section is targeted for completion by late 2026 or mid-2027, while the eastern section is expected to be fully finished by May 2028.

Impact of Pune Ring Road on Real Estate

Pune is experiencing real estate growth across all zones.
The construction of the Pune Ring Road will strengthen the development of townships in various parts of the city.
The PMRDA has advanced its Town Planning Schemes (TPS) and is handing over large portions of the Mahalunge-Maan layout to the municipal corporation for immediate civic infrastructure work.
This flagship Mahalunge-Maan township model spans over 250 hectares (approx. 617 acres) right next to the booming Hinjewadi IT hub.
PMRDA has officially launched its multi-phase Town Planning Schemes in Holkarwadi, alongside fast-tracked residential land developments in adjacent Vadachiwadi and Autande Handewadi.
The property growth will provide real estate opportunities to homebuyers. And it will help stabilise the prices of premium real estate markets of Kalyani Nagar, Viman Nagar, Koregaon Park, Kharadi, etc.
With premium east Pune prices hitting an average of ₹14,500 to over ₹22,000 per sq. ft. in luxury blocks, middle-class buyers are heavily shifting their home search to affordable emerging zones in the west and south-west.
In most of the areas of north, north-west, and west Pune, infrastructure is a huge challenge.
So, the growth of new townships will increase the choices for homebuyers. And PMRDA is also seeking growth in the real estate sector.
