Buying a house or property is safe with the RERA where a buyer can file a complaint against the promoter or real estate agent. A complaint can be filed against a project which is registered under the RERA. Check the below article to know how you can file a complaint under RERA. 

It is now simple and easy to file a RERA complaint against unethical developers. Complainants must pay a fee to the relevant State Authority in order to register a complaint under the Act. 

Section 31 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) allows for the filing of complaints against any promoter or project easily. 

This Act has helped the home buyers to file complaints against any fraudulent cases within a specific period of violating any of the rules framed under RERA.

The regulating authority or the adjudicating officer can receive complaints against developers, builders, and agents.

How To File A Complaint?

After the launch of the RERA official website, the government has ensured that the whole process of filing a complaint under RERA is easy and hassle-free for the buyers. 

Any house buyer is eligible to file a RERA complaint online over the official website with simple steps and by paying a registration fee. 

You can follow the below steps to successfully file a complaint. 

How To File A Complaint Under RERA STEPS

Step 1: Visit the State’s RERA official website to file a complaint.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Registration’ tab from the home page

Step 3: Select ‘Complaints’ from the dropdown

Step 4: Select ‘Project Wise’ to complain against any registered project, or else select ‘Promoter Wise’ to complain about the promoter of the project from the dropdown

Step 5: Then select ‘District Wise’ or ‘Division Wise’ accordingly from the dropdown

Step 6: A complaint form will be generated. Provide details and fill the form online

Step 7: provide information like your Name, Address, Contact Details, and Project Details. It might also ask to attach supporting documents for it

Step 8: Pay Rs 1000 for filing the complaint. If filing a complaint before adjudicating officer, then the payable amount will be Rs 5000

Step 9: After the completion of the online payment, your form will be submitted

Any person who is interested in the project is eligible to file a complaint against the builder or promoter through the RERA authority.

If you are filing a complaint through the MahaRERA website for Maharashtra registered project or promoter, then you can follow the below steps: 

Step 1: First, visit the official website of Maharashtra RERA website, which is maharera.mahaonline.gov.in

Step 4: Now you have to select ‘Project Wise’ if you want to complain about the project, or else select ‘Promoter Wise’ if you want to complain about the promoter of the project from the dropdown

  • The registration number as well as the address of the project.
  • Provide clear information of facts and the grounds of the claim.
  • If there are any reliefs and interim reliefs which are sought, those should also be added.
