This is the official decision from the PMC.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The PMC officials also clarified that the plan was on the list to increase the property tax by almost 11% but now it will not be executed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The senior official from the tax department of PMC said \u201cAt present, an administrator is leading the PMC operations. So, no officially elected members are there in the civic body. And increasing the tax during the unavailability of people\u2019s representative will be inappropriate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the last financial year, the municipal corporation collected Rs. 479 crores through the amnesty scheme for property tax defaulters. This scheme helped 1.49 lakhs property owners to pay their past dues.
